hanging mobile

we have been working on hanging mobiles today. this is what i made during the afternoon. should i paint it? there have been some crazy couple of days lately. we are finally done with the ikea project, i turned 24, and i'm done with this application for a school. this week will be a nice one. no more stress for a while. just enjoy school and hang out with my friends.

"during the past few years i have been making plastic, inflatable sculptures that slowly deflate and flatten. with these forms i observe transitions between two- and three-dimensional states, revel in both, and achieve neither. i am intrigued by the convergence of opposites evident in this work and the restlessness of the finished objects.

my prints and drawings evolve from these sculptures. the seams on my inflatables or the gestures and planes of my small ceramic forms map an intuitive process of decision-making. later i fix those lines in prints, or photographs in order to honor the serendipitous nature of the original effort. 

i wonder then — am i getting closer to the center of things?"

finns nog inget som tilltalar mig lika mycket som just linjer och hur det kan bilda så mycket mer än ett rakt streck. det finns något där som jag inte riktigt kan släppa. inte för att jag måste, men att jag aldrig tröttnar fascinerar mig.

ikväll ska det skrivas texter och planeras. samt strukturera upp mina arbetsprovsidéer på ett och samma ställe. försöker hålla hårt i min ordningsamhet, det är så skönt med ordning och reda mitt i kaoset bland allt jag har att göra just nu. det hjälper, jag lovar.

mot studiebesök till dramatens och operans verkstäder vid gäddviken med klassen. det ska bli intressant att se. i eftermiddag blir det möte om ett annat kommande projekt. sedan hem och sätta mig i soffan med en kopp te och skriva på en artikel.
